A Texas woman and her cat are fortunate to be alive following a horrific rollover crash Wednesday on Highway 10 in Arizona. The moments leading up to the crash were videoed by a commercial trucker and shows the dangers of following too closely to another vehicle. The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a news release following the crash
“Video recorded by a commercial truck driver captured a horrific chain of events in which a passenger car collided into the side of a mountain and then violently rolled-over into the path of Interstate 10 traffic near Benson. The driver had been following the vehicle directly in front of her too closely and failed to see a discarded mattress partially blocking the roadway prior the collision. Incredibly, the driver escaped serious injury due to the fact that she was wearing her seat belt.”
Note: Date is incorrect on the dashcam. Accident occurred August 3, 2016
Briana Disaia, 23, of Texas was driving the car that crashed and attributes her seatbelt with saving her life. Investigators agree Briana would have been critically injured or killed had she not had it on.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety would like to remind drivers of the dangers of following too closely, stating you won’t get to your destination any faster, especially if you crash.
Brianna was checked out at the scene but refused medical treatment. She and her cat were uninjured.
